Minutes of 100 Years Ago

October 1914

THIS IS AN EXTRACT FROM THE MINUTES OF THE ALBERT EDWARD LODGE MEETING HELD AT THE MUNICIPAL BUILDINGS, LONDON ROAD,CAMBERLEY ON WEDNESDAY 28TH OCTOBER 1914

 

PRESENT WERE:           12 OFFICERS including the W/M W/Bro. W.H. BLACKABY

MEMBERS:                       10

VISITORS:                         2

 

The lodge was opened in due form after solemn prayer at 6.20 p.m.

The minutes of the last regular meeting were read and confirmed by the Brethren present.

Bro. W.J. Simmonds was then called to the P. and after he had given proof of progress in the Science was entrusted with the P.G. and P.W. leading from the 1st. to the 2nd. degree. The E.A. then retired to be prepared for the ceremony of passing.

The Lodge was then advanced to the 2nd. degree when Bro. W.J. Simmonds was re-admitted and passed to the degree of a fellow craft. The ceremony of passing being ably rendered by W. Bro. W.H. Blackaby. W.M.

The explanation of the 2nd. degree tracing board was impressively given by the W. Bro. W. Vaughan. P.M. D of C

The lodge was then lowered to the 1st. degree.

The lodge then appointed November 11th. as the day that the audit should take place, the P.M. and Reference Committee to act.

Letters of apology for non-attendance were received from W. Bro. Burn P.M. and Bros. Foster & Smithers

Nothing further being offered for the good of Freemasonry or this Lodge in particular it was closed in perfect harmony at 7.45 p.m.
